Entry: Technology Resources

             The goal of this workshop was to show the usefulness of technology in classrooms. The history, use, advantages, disadvantages of technology were presented during it.  There are many advantages of using technology in classrooms; however, we consider that there are two that are very important. The first one is that technology engages and motivates students because this tool is very common nowadays; they feel excited and fascinated by it. The second one is that technology can be considered a time saver which is necessary for teachers because sometimes there is not enough time to plan and cover lessons adequately. However, there are two disadvantages that need to be taken into consideration when using technology. The first one is that it can be a distractor for students because they can use it for other purposes. The second one is that technology is not accessible to every teacher, student or institution. For this reason, teachers need not to rely only on technology; they need to have another strategy in case they have problems while using it. The most attractive part of the workshop was the discussion part, since we share our ideas and opinions, and we could appreciate what our classmates think about it.  We as a group agreed that technology has an important role in classrooms, nowadays. The use of technology resources during classes can be very useful for teachers because it promotes students’ participation. Finally, we realized that technology, as flashcards, is a great tool to support teachers’ lessons, but it should not be overused.
